Logo & Branding Design: Nialogique
Today is the first of many logo and branding portfolio updates you’ll see in the coming months! Not only do I need to do a better job at keeping you guys in the loop of my most recent projects and walking you through my workflow and design process, but I also selfishly need to update my portfolio BAD. I haven’t actually added to it in over a year… so I think it’s time. These posts are a great way to kick my booty into gear and get my work out there. So let’s take this win-win situation and oogle over one of my favorite recent branding projects, shall we?
I recently had the pleasure of working with Nia from Nialogique. Nia not only is freaking awesome, but she also runs a successful blog where she enlightens us all with her mad blogging and business skillz. Blogosphere, you must go check her out – pronto!
Nia came to me, ready to take her blog to the next level. After seeing some serious blogging success (she’s the real deal), she decided it was time to take the next step to being seen as a leader in her niche – with a rebrand, of course! Up until this point, she had created her branding herself – which served her well initially, but she was ready to bring in a pro… (that’s me 😉).
In her branding questionnaire, Nia pointed out examples of brands she liked and described her desired aesthetic as "minimalist and simple but with a bang". She described the overall message she wanted her brand to convey as minimal, clean, balanced, comforting, and knowledgeable.
Based on her ideas, aesthetic and brand message, I developed one of my favorite mood boards to date (find it down below) that she loved! She actually thanked the Pinterest gods that led her to me. Pinterest Gods are a real thing, people! (They MUST be real because look at how beautiful this mood board is).
Once I get the green light on the mood board, I begin designing! I created three logo options for her to choose from, to which she responded with:
"Oh my god Mariah! The first design is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. It's everything I wanted — Simple, sleek, minimal, and with a touch of edge. I literally needed a few minutes to respond because I was so excited. Thank you for capturing my vision. Don't change a thing about it, I'm in love!”
So I’d say she was happy. And I was happy. And EVERYONE WAS HAPPY!
In the midst of our happiness, we put together a few social media templates and banners, an email signature, and custom icons to accompany her new branding!
Feast your eyes on all of Nialogique’s branding... in all it’s glory.
"MAAAARIAH!!!! I'M SO HAPPY I CAN HARDLY CONTAIN MYSELF! You're honestly the freakin' best. I've worked with other people before and you have by far been the most professional & easy to work with. You totally got my vision and you were super friendly and understanding and I really couldn't have asked for a better graphic designer to help me with this project."
